Rodial - What I’ve tried so far...

*This post contains affiliate links.
Use of the affiliate links is hugely appreciated and is a great way to support my blog. I love knowing my review's are being put to good use!*

I've only recently started using Rodial products. The first Rodial product I tried, came in the Founders gift set from Space NK. It was the Vit C Brightening Mask*. The mask contains 5% Vitamin C and a blend of 10% AHA acids and promises to leave skin brightened and evened. The mask is a clear gel like consistency, that applies smoothly. It smells gorgeous - sweet and fruity.  It's designed to be left on for 15-20 mins then washed off. I've loved using this mask, it definitely leaves skin glowing after use. It's gentle too, I've had no irritation from it.
This is currently on offer in the Rodial Outlet section for £15 for a full sized tub! Click HERE to go straight to it.

After the success of the Vit C mask I wanted to try some other Rodial products and I'd seen online that they have an outlet section on their website. It was there I found and bought the "Hero Collection" set which contains four of their best selling products.

The set includes the Stem Cell Cleanser*, Super Acids X-treme acid rush peel mask, Dragon's Blood Sculpting Gel* and Bee Venom Moisturiser*. Some odd sounding names, right?! My order also came with a couple of samples too.

So what do I think of these products?

Stem Cell Cleanser* - a beautiful, thick, rich cream cleanser that removes makeup brilliantly. It's packed with ingredients like Rose Hip Oil to nourish and protect dehydrated skin. It's gentle around the eyes. It's got a soft, floral fragrance. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soothed. It's a really lovely cleanser, that I'll certainly buy again. It can also be left on longer and used as a mask for a bit of a treat! For me this is a PM first cleanse product.

Super Acids X-treme mask - now you all know I love acid products so I was pleased to see this contains not one, but three different types of acid! It's got glycolic, lactic and one that's not used as often, but that I love, azelaic. It also contains Probiotics which gives it another gold star from me. The peel is designed to be left on for 10-15 mins then washed off. It's the same consistency and scent as the Vit C mask. I've found it a fairly gentle acid product, it brightens skin well but isn't harsh.

Dragon's Blood Sculpting Gel* - now I had a love / hate relationship with this product! It promises to sculpt and define skin and reduce redness and inflammation. Scent wise it's lovely, very similar to the Super Acid scent, sweet and light. Texture wise, it's very unique. It's a gel and super smooth. This is down to it containing silicone which I know some people love the texture of, whilst others hate. I personally don't mind products with silicone in them. Now this gives a great finish on your skin, it looks plumped and pore free. But there was one problem, it pilled when I applied my makeup. Now I know I can't expect all products to work well together but I hate pilling! I tried a number of different primers and foundations and had the same issue every time. So I used the rest of the product up in my evening routines only, where it performed beautifully! So for me this one was a fail, as it was a product I wanted to use in the morning and wasn't able to. But don't let that put you off, as it really was good!

Bee Venom Cream* - this was love at first use! It promises to plump and smooth lines and wrinkles  and improve skins elasticity. It's very rich in texture but surprisingly light and easily absorbed. Very delicately scented. I could use this AM and PM but I prefer to use it PM. Will definitely re-buy.

Now because I loved the Bee Venom so much when I saw that the Bee Venom Day Cream SPF 30* was on offer, I had to buy it! And the Super Acids Exfoliating pads as they were a steal!

The Bee Venom Day cream SPF 30* has all the great features of the OG version, its just slightly lighter textured and contains SPF. I've loved using it, although I did have one issue of pilling but that was because I'd used an oil product prior to application - not a good idea!

The Super Acids Exfoliating pads are really convenient as they are pre-soaked. They contain Salicylic acid (my favourite!) to exfoliate and apple amino acids to hydrate skin. They smell fruity / apple like too. I've not felt an acid tingle when applying them so don't think they're particularly strong. So they're perfect for daily use.

So that's all the Rodial products I've tried so far! Are there any you like the sound of? Or are there any you recommend that I try?

Herbivore - worth the hype?

Space NK UK

Herbivore are definitely an “Instagram made me buy it” brand. Their luxury oils and creams that look good enough to eat, are all over Instagram at the moment.

The main product that seems to be in everyone’s favour is the enchanting blue coloured Lapis oil. Well obviously I had to try it and a couple more of their products!

Lapis oil is a squalane based oil containing blue tansy and is designed for those with oily, blemish prone skin. After using this oil on and off for a few weeks I can confirm the hype is justified! It’s amazing! I think this would suit any skin type. I’ve been using this oil last in my routine on a night on top of moisturiser. I’ve had no issues with pilling. I’ve found 3-5 drops rubbed between my hands is enough. The oil seems to loosen up a bit when I do this. I’ve then been patting the oil gently on my face and neck. It’s completely not greasy and absorbs beautifully. I’ve found it calms my skin if my acne is flared up. I’ll definitely be purchasing the larger bottle of this oil when my current one runs out.

The second product I’ve been using is the Jasmine Green Tea Toner. Again this is aimed at oily / combination skin. I was a bit worried about the fragrance of this, as some scents give me migraines. Thankfully I’m absolutely fine with this! It’s got a gorgeous Jasmine smell but it’s not overpowering at all. The spray itself is super refreshing and hydrating. I’m using this most in a morning after cleansing. Another hit for me!

The third Herbivore product I’ve fallen in love with is the Phoenix Regenerating oil. This oil is designed to hydrate and rejuvenate skin to leave it glowing! I’ve been using this on the same way as Lapis, on an evening, after moisturiser and applied in the same way. It’s got a stunning light floral fragrance. My complexion the day after use has looked amazing! Well hydrated and youthful. Another fabulous product from Herbivore that I’ll be buying again!

So all in all, I’m in love with Herbivore at the moment! I’m definitely wanting to try more from this brand (Moon Fruit Superfruit Night treatment and Blue Tansy Mask I’m looking at you ๐Ÿ‘€).

Juvia’s Place Magic Palette

*This post contains affiliate links.
Use of the affiliate links is hugely appreciated and is a great way to support my blog. I love knowing my review's are being put to good use!*

I’m pretty late to the party when it comes to Juvia’s Place. I’ve seen countless photos of their eyeshadow palettes and read loads of glowing reviews but it didn’t prepare me for how stunning their products actually were! The packaging is so pretty and more importantly, sturdy. I was shocked at how big the palette was! It’s huge!

After much deliberation I chose the Magic palette*. I went with this one as there’s a distinct lack of non-neutral shades in my eyeshadow collection. I think the colours in this are still fairly wearable, without being too bright.  Seriously though - look at them! Heart eyes or what?! Even my husband agreed it looked amazing and that’s saying something! ๐Ÿ˜‚ There’s a good mix of matte and shimmer shades. The pan sizes are generous too.

I ordered this from Juvia’s Place website which meant shipping from USA. They had a free shipping offer on at the time. I’d seen it shared on Instagram that it included customs fees too, so I thought I was getting a bargain. Sadly this wasn’t the case ๐Ÿ˜‚ My own fault! I should have checked first. Luckily it cost me the same as it would have if I’d have bought from Beauty Bay (a UK stockist), I just had to wait a couple of weeks to get it! But believe me, it’s worth the wait! These swatches speak for themselves. I’ve been using the palette for the last week and have created some gorgeous looks with it.  All the shadows are extremely pigmented and buttery soft. They’re very similar to Kat Von D’s Metal Crush eyeshadows in both texture and payoff. Let’s just say, I’m in love! This definitely won’t be my last order from Juvia’s Place.

Kate Somerville Eradikate Review

Space NK UK

Use of the affiliate links is hugely appreciated and is a great way to support my blog. I love knowing my review's are being put to good use!*

Cult brand Kate Somerville finally became available in the UK in February this year. I’d heard so many good things about the brand, especially the Eradikate range, which is aimed at people with acne prone skin.

As you know, I suffer with hormonal cystic acne so it didn’t take me long to place an order from Cult Beauty for Eradikate Blemish Treatment. I’m 2/3 through my first bottle and I’ve had to order a back up as I can’t be without it! This time I ordered from the Kate Somerville site and received a couple of samples to try too.

The idea is to apply Eradikate onto a spot, to help reduce inflammation and redness. I’ll be honest, I’ll try pretty much anything to clear my acne up quicker! Cystic acne is notoriously long lasting, with spots sometimes lingering for weeks!

Now back to the product. It has a two pronged approach to tackle spots as it’s in two layers - pink at the bottom and clear at the top. You dip a cotton bud into the product so it picks up both layers. You then dab this onto your spot. The clear liquid contains the main active ingredients which are BHA Salicylic acid (my favourite acid!), Sulphur and Zinc. These three work together to help reduce the blemish. The pink layer then dries on top to form a soothing seal. You leave it to work it’s magic overnight and wash off as normal in the morning.

I’ve had great  results with Eradikate, it’s amazing how quickly it can clear blemishes up, even acne cysts. The only downside I’ve found and it’s a small one, is that because of the strength of the product, it can quickly dry skin out. Honestly though, I’ve only experienced this with over use so I’ve only got myself to blame! I usually counteract this by applying an oil product in the morning.

Have you tried Eradikate or a similar product? What’s your holy grail spot treatment?

Byrdie Beauty Box for Latest In Beauty

I'm a huge fan of Latest in Beauty and am subscribed to their monthly beauty box. They also regularly have stand alone collaboration beauty boxes. These are always amazing value for the products you receive. So when I received an email offering me £5 off the latest beauty box with Byrdie - I couldn't say no!

Now I'll be honest, I'd not heard of Byrdie before, I've obviously been hiding under a rock! A quick look on Instagram told me all that I needed to know, they're a website that discuss all things beauty. Right up my street!

So the box itself has been titled "The #nightlies edit". Byrdie post #nightlies Insta Stories every Sunday, which are step by step beauty routine guides by skincare savvy ladies. What a great way to share tips and advice! The box itself embodies this concept and includes a carefully curated selection of the teams favourite products, all designed to pamper you before bed. Sounds amazing, right?!

So what does the box contain? Quite a lot!

Function of Beauty

There's a Stacked Skincare MicroRoller - I've been wanting to try a derma-roller for a while but hadn't quite plucked up the courage! This has given me the push I need to try it.

This Works - Deep Sleep Pillow spray. This product has quite a reputation! Anything that helps me sleep is a winner in my book.

Biocol Labs - Something for Dreaming. A supplement designed to be taken before bed to help you sleep.

Elemis - Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix. I'm already a huge fan of this cream so am pleased to have more!

Base - Lip Solve Bullet. A hydrating lip balm. I don't know about you, but I always need more lip balm!

Dr Dennis Gross - Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel. I love any acid products and have been wanting to try more from this brand.

Dr Dennis Gross - Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum. Full of antioxidants and ingredients to plump the skin.

REN - Ready Steady Go Daily AHA Tonic. I've already got a bottle of this and really enjoy using it. Nice to have a back up!

OPI - Nail Lacquer in My Wish List is You. I do my own UV Gel nails at home so this will be getting passed onto a friend instead. Gorgeous colour though!

BlinkBrowBar - Brow Exfoliator. Designed to stop ingrowing eyebrow hairs. Not something I've had an issue with if I'm honest!

Philosophy - Purity 3-in-1 Cleanser. I've tried a sample of this before and can see why it's a blogger favourite. It's such a gentle cleanser that removes makeup brilliantly. Will look forward to using this.

Living Sea - Therapy Bath Salts in Calm or Indulge. I got the scent Indulge. Everybody loves bath salts!

Lore - Originals Legend Dry Hair Mask. An industrial strength mask to strengthen and moisturise hair. Always good in my book!
