Summer Fridays CC Me Serum Review

When it comes to Vitamin C serums I tend to go for more "science led" brands like Skinceuticals and Medik8. I always thought that Summer Fridays seemed a bit of an overhyped brand as I'd seen a lot of mixed reviews for their products. Some love them, some hate them. So when this serum was first released, I dismissed it. But the longer it was out, the more I saw glowing reviews for it, from bloggers who's opinion that I trust. So curiosity got the better of me and I ordered a bottle to try it for myself. I'm so glad I did!

CC Me Serum is a multi-tasking brightening serum that contains two forms of Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Squalane and Peptides. Both Vitamin C and Niacinamide are brilliant to brighten your complexion as well as even out skin tone. They also provide antioxidant protection against pollution and free radicals. Squalane is great to hydrate skin and Peptides are perfect for keeping skin firm and supple. So it's definitely a powerhouse, one and done type of serum.

Consistency wise, it's a beautiful thick water based gel / serum that instantly plumps and hydrates skin. It absorbs quickly and easily. It's not sticky or heavy at all. It's a really elegant formula. I've not had any pilling / rolling issues with it, which is always an important factor for me. It layers with my other products perfectly.

It has a very subtle pleasant scent that I really struggle to describe! It definitely doesn't have that hot-dog water / salty scent that a lot of Vitamin C serums have.

When it comes to both Vitamin C and Niacinamide, my skin is really in the maintenance phase as I've been using them in some form or other for a couple of years. So I never expect any glaringly obvious results when I try a new product containing them, as they should just keep up the previous results I've had (if that makes sense!). Niacinamide works brilliantly for me, by helping control sebum production which in turn makes my pores look smaller. Vitamin C keeps my complexion looking even and bright as well as fading acne pigmentation as and when it inevitably appears. This serum definitely delivers on all points!

All in all, the CC Me serum has hugely exceeded expectations for me. It's an absolute pleasure to use as well as being really effective. I highly recommend it!

Summer Fridays CC Me serum is available from Cult Beauty, Space NK and Net-A-Porter for £57.

  1. Thank you for a excellent review. Love the fact it doesn't pill or roll, there's nothing more annoying.
