As soon as I saw this peel from Oskia - I knew I had to try it! If you've not heard of Oskia before - here's a bit of info about them. Oskia are an award winning British brand that class themselves as nutri-cosmeceutical, as they create high-tech formulas with natural ingredients. What makes Oskia different is that they specialise in bio-cellular skin nutrition. What that actually means is that their products are designed to improve your skin cells activity, giving us radiant, healthy skin. A lot of their products contain MSM, which is a wonder ingredient which helps repair and maintain healthy skin. Amazing, right? My favourite Oskia product is their cult classic, Renaissance Cleansing Gel. A Caroline Hirons favourite, the gel to oil rose scented cleanser is heavenly!

Now, onto their newest product - the Liquid Mask Lactic Acid Micro Peel. This is an acid treatment that's designed to leave you with healthy, smooth, radiant skin the following morning! It can be used 2-3 times a week. The serum contains a whole host of amazing ingredients:
  • 10% Lactic acid - the highest concentration available (in the EU) for an at home treatment, used at an optimum pH level for maximum results. Lactic acid is known to be a gentle but powerful acid, that actually moisturises as it exfoliates. It's great for all skin types, even sensitive!
  • Niacinamide aka Vitamin B3 - this helps strengthen skin, clears pores and smooths texture. You all know how much I adore Niacinamide!
  • Hyaluronic Acid - in mixed molecular weights to deeply hydrate skin.
  • MSM, Pro Vitamin B5 and Cactus Stem extract - for calming inflammation and irritation.
  • Red Snow and Black Carrot extracts - these give protection from free radical damage.

So, how does it perform? It's a watery consistency ,so absorbs instantly into skin. I felt the typical acid tingle for a few seconds, then it died down. There's two ways to use this serum - you can leave it on for a few minutes, then continue with your routine or leave for 10-15 minutes, then wash off, then do your routine. I've tried it both ways and prefer to leave it for longer and rinse off. Although it absorbs fully into your skin, it does leave it slightly sticky. Now that's not really an issue when you're putting further products on but I prefer to wash it off all the same. I think leaving it on for 10-15 minutes is plenty of time for it to work.

After use, it leaves my skin really soft and smooth. Pores are clear too. It also leaves skin nicely hydrated - it doesn't feel harsh or like it's stripping my skin. I do find that I have a high tolerance for acids though. I think the addition of Niacinamide is brilliant - this really helps strengthen and protect skin.

All in all I'm impressed with this peel and will continue to enjoy using it! It's certainly a perfect option for those who can't tolerate Glycolic acid.
