March Empties 2020

It's time for March's empties already! What a month it's been with all this Corona virus madness.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (PR, available from Dermalogica, Skin City and Look Fantastic for £13-51 depending on size) - This is a fantastic exfoliant. It's a mix of both physical and acid exfoliation designed to leave skin super soft. It's a powder that you add a bit of water to. It then foams up to a creamy lather. The physical scrub side of it is very gentle. I like that it can be added to your cleanser for an extra boost. The only downside is that you can't take it round your eye area which I always find difficult when washing my face! My eye area can be quite sensitive and I've ended up with sore under eyes on a few occasions. You don't need much product so a tub will last ages.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No I prefer an exfoliating serum.

We Are Paradoxx Game Changer hair mask (PR, available from Boots, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic for £30) - This is a gorgeous thick hair mask. A little goes a long way. It smells amazing and leaves my hair super soft and glossy.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No, now I have short hair it doesn't need a mask.

LQ Collagen Skin, Hair and Nails liquid supplements (PR, available HERE from £19.99 for 10) - The formula of these has been updated since my last review of them (found HERE). These are a fruit flavoured liquid supplement containing a high dose of collagen. I'm pleased to say that you no longer get a slight aftertaste of fish from these. The flavour has definitely been improved too, it's more fruity than before.

Do I recommend them? Yes
Will I repurchase? No they're out of my budget.

Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon (bought myself, available from Dermalogica, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique for £72.50 or £64 from Skin City) - This is a lovely light hydrating gel that just melts into skin. It has a beautiful lavender scent that is perfect to relax you before bedtime. I didn't find this rich enough for me over winter though.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No as nice as it was, it wasn't really enough for my skin.

A.Florence BHA / PHA Exfoliating Toner (bought myself, available HERE for £10-26.50) - I liked this but struggled to fit it into my routine. It's a fab gentle exfoliating toner that's perfect to use daily. My skin just needs something a bit stronger though.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No.

Polaar Crème Nuit Polaire moisturiser (PR, available in a set HERE) - This is a gorgeous rich night cream. I found it a little too rich for my acne prone skin though. It had a beautiful fluffy consistency.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No.

Touch In Sol Stretchex Mascara (bought myself, available HERE for £18 or save 25% using my affiliate code TTBSOL25) - This must be empty number 5 or 6 of this mascara now! It's my holy grail. It does it all - lengthens, thickens, curls and add volume. It's also the only mascara that doesn't smudge or flake throughout the day. It's the best as the before and after pic below shows!

Do I recommend it? Yes.
Will I repurchase? Already have. I stocked up in the January sales.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel (bought myself, available from Space NK and Cult Beauty for £15-35) - Always a sad empty! This is a wonderful cleanser. It's a gel consistency them melts down to an oil to easily remove makeup. It then rinses clean. It has the most beautiful rose scent making it an absolute treat to use.

Up Circle Lemongrass Body Scrub (PR, available HERE for £14.99 for a full sized tube) - I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with coffee ground scrubs - I love the effects but hate the mess! This is one of the nicest ones I've tried though. It has a gorgeous oil base so it's really nourishing as well as being a great exfoliant. I love the lemongrass scent  - it's super uplifting.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Probably not as I prefer a sugar scrub.

Fresh Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash (sample, available HERE for £26) - I do occasionally like a gentle physical exfoliant so was really excited to try this. I'm pleased to say it lived up to expectations! It's a very gentle scrub that smells amazing. It left my skin feeling really soft.
Marks out of 10: 8/10
Do I recommend it? Based on this sample, yes.
Will I purchase it? Yes I think so at some point.

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary mist (bought myself, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic and Feel Unique from £20-55) - This is one of my favourite mists. It has the most amazing scent - it's a combination of neroli, rose and orange blossom. It has a super fine mist too. It's not the most hydrating mist out there but for me, then scent more than makes up for it as it's such a pleasure to use.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Yes at some point.

Good Molecules Super Peptide Serum (PR, available HERE for $12) - This is a lovely hydrating serum. It layers well with other products and has a light citrus scent. Unfortunately I didn't see any other effects other than hydration.
Marks out of 10: 5/10
Do I recommend it? For the price, it's worth a try!
Will I repurchase? No.

Evy Technology Daily UV Face Mousse SPF 30 (bought myself, available from Space NK for £25 or Evy.uk where you can save 15% using my affiliate code TORIA15) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to re-cap - this is my holy grail SPF. It's super lightweight and hydrating, there's no white cast, no SPF scent, it doesn't sting eyes and it works brilliantly under makeup, no pilling ever! Honestly it's the best & I'll never be without it.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes to everyone!
Will I repurchase? Always!

Elemis Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream (bought myself, available from Elemis and Feel Unique for £50) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to re-cap - this is a beautiful moisturiser. It's light yet still nourishing. It has a gorgeous consistency, almost mousse like.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 50 mist (bought myself, available from Boots, Look Fantastic & Feel Unique for £14) - This is a fantastic SPF. I use it to top up with during the day. It can be applied over makeup without disturbing it as it has a very fine spray. It doesn't leave skin looking greasy either. I always keep a bottle in my handbag.

Aromatherapy Associates Deep Relax (bought myself, available from Space NK, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique for £49 for full sized) - I love this bath oil. It really does help my relax and chill out. You only need a small cap full to get plenty of fragrance. It helps keep skin soft too.

Will I repurchase? Yes

Spectrum Luxury Vegan Brush Soap (PR, available HERE for £16.99) - This is a great brush cleanser. It comes in a variety of scents - this one is Sea Salt and Vanilla. It's not an overpowering scent, it's very subtle and pleasant. It comes with a textured silicone pad built into the lid to help clean your brushes on. It was am effective soap but I found I used it up quickly. I usually wash my brushes every few weeks so I'll have a large amount to clean. I think I got 6 or 7 uses out of the soap but that was probably washing 40+ brushes at a time.
Marks out of 10: 8/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No as I still prefer to use baby shampoo.

Beautybio The Balance cleanser (PR, available from Cult Beauty for £45) - I had a love / hate relationship with this cleanser. It's a gorgeous, silky gel that lathers nicely and leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated. However it has quite a strong menthol scent. I love the scent and found the cleanser invigorating as it feels very cooling on my skin but I found that it stung my eye area. Around my eyes can be rather sensitive though so it's probably just me!
Marks out of 10: 6/10
Do I recommend it? Yes unless you have sensitive skin.
Will I repurchase? No.

Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment (bought myself, available from Paula's Choice, Space NK, Cult Beauty and Feel Unique for £53) - This was such a sad empty! This is my all time favourite Retinol serum. It's strong but I've never had any sensitivity or peeling from it. It makes a huge difference with keeping my acne under control as well as keeping fine lines at bay. It's fantastic.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Yes as soon as possible. I've got some other Retinol serums to test first though.

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Balance moisturiser (PR, available from Dermalogica, Feel Unique  for £42.50 and Skin City for £35) - This is a super thick moisturiser. I used it after having a peel. It really felt nourishing. I wasn't too keen on the scent of it though. It has a very traditional cream scent (if that makes sense). I think it was a bit heavy for my acne prone skin but would be perfect for dry skin types.
Marks out of 10: 5/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No.

Murad AHA BHA Exfoliating cleanser (bought myself, available from Murad, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic, Skin City for £38) - I've had a few mini tubes of this now. Will I repurchase? Yes.

Tata Harper Reparative Moisturiser (bought myself, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty for £101 and Skin City for £96) - This was much lighter than I expected. It's almost a lotion consistency. It feels super nourishing though and it has a gorgeous fruity scent. I liked it but it didn't particularly wow me.
Marks out of 10: 6/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No.

Drunk Elephant Babyfacial (bought myself, not available in the UK) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to re-cap - it's the best exfoliating mask I've ever tried! It's strong and super effective. Love it! It's perfect to use once a week to help keep my acne in check.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes unless you have sensitive skin as it'll probably be too strong.
Will I repurchase? I've luckily got a back up already.

A.Florence Hydrating Gel Cleanser (bought myself, available HERE for £23) - This is one of my favourite cleansers. It's a beautiful thick gel that just melts into skin. It's incredibly gentle and hydrating. It can be used as a flash mask too which I love! It's a perfect AM cleanser for me.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Always! It's one I won't be without.

Omorovicza Instant Perfection Serum (bought myself, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique for £87) - This is a gorgeous, silky hydrating serum. It has the same scent as the Queen of Hungary mist. Aside from hydration, I didn't see any other effects from this.
Marks out of 10: 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No, I prefer Medik8 Hydr8 B5 Intense instead.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish body Lavender and Vetiver (available HERE for £19) - This scent was a limited edition but I've linked the original version. This is a lovely, rich cream cleanser for the body. It leaves skin super soft and smooth.

Dermalogica Redness Relief Essence (PR, available from Dermalogica, Feel Unique and Skin City for £38) - This is a lovely, thick essence that has a calming lavender scent making it perfect to use on a night. It leaves skin super plump and hydrated.

Will I repurchase? No. It was nice but didn't wow me.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream (PR, available from Dermalogica, Feel Unique for £37 and Skin City for £33) - Unfortunately I wasn't keen on this at all. It had a fusty scent to it that really put me off! Which was a shame as the cream itself felt lovely. It was light and hydrating.
Marks out of 10: 4/10
Do I recommend it? I'd say give it a try, the scent issue is purely personal preference.
Will I repurchase? No

Sure Maximum Protection Anti-Perspirant (bought myself, available HERE for £4.99) - This does the job, nothing fancy.
Marks out of 10: 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Probably although I prefer Mitchum usually.

Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter (gift from friend, available HERE for £3) - This is a gorgeous rich body cream that smells amazing too. It leaves skin super soft.
Marks out of 10: 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Yes

Nuface Fix Serum (gift from a friend, available from Feel Unique, Space NK and Cult Beauty for £50) - This is a great serum to use with my Nuface device. It conducts microcurrent perfectly and has anti-aging benefits too.
Marks out of 10: 8/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No because I find the original gel better and more cost effective.

And that's it for this month! Thanks for reading.
