Dr Dennis Gross are a brand that I keep meaning to try more from, so when they brought out the Hyaluronic Marine Meltaway Cleanser, I had to try it as I'm a cleanser addict!

Dr Dennis Gross is a renowned dermatologist who was one of the first to recommend using acid exfoliation on a daily basis. He went on to develop his Alpha Beta daily peels which are a best-seller for a reason!

Anyway, on to the cleanser. This cleanser is designed to be used as a first cleanse, to remove makeup, SPF and dirt / oil. It contains Hyaluronic acid to keep skin well hydrated, amino acid rich Marine algae and Aloe and Kiwi fruit extract to soothe and moisturise. It's meant to be applied straight on to dry skin, then removed with a damp cloth.

The first thing that surprised me with this cleanser, is the texture. I expected it to be an gel / oil consistency but it's actually a cream! It's a very lightweight cream though, almost a gel / cream. It has a very subtle fresh citrus scent. It applies smoothly to skin and feels very cooling. It's easy to massage into skin, there's no tugging or pulling. The cleanser breaks down makeup and SPF quickly and easily. I took it round my eye area to remove eye makeup with no issues.

The first time I used this, I was a little underwhelmed. I found it a bit joyless to use. However the more I used it, the more it grew on me! Now I actually enjoy using it. I think this is mainly down to how well hydrated it leave my skin after using it. I actually prefer to use it as a second cleanse because of this. I remove is as I do with all my cleansers, using a damp microfibre cloth, which works really well. It would definitely be fine to use without a cloth though as it rinses clean completely once water is applied.

All in all, I'm really impressed with this cleanser! For me, it's a great all-rounder that works as a first or second cleanse. I'd definitely recommend it, especially it if you have dry / dehydrated skin.

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Marine Meltaway Cleanser is available from Space NK & Cult Beauty for £30.
