Deviant Skincare Cleansing Concentrate Review

Cult Beauty Ltd.
After buying my third pot of Deviant Skincare Cleansing Concentrate, I realised that I'd never reviewed it on here, only on Instagram! I think the fact that I've repurchased this numerous times speaks for itself but this cleanser deserves a full length review.

But first a little bit about the brand. Deviant Skincare gets it name because co-founder, Natalie Smyth (@nataliesmyth on Instagram - go give her a follow for amazing skincare and cat content!) wanted the brand to deviate from the norm. She wanted her brand to be genderless, for all ages and free from marketing jargon. She wanted to create products that were all about skin health, not trends and that spoke for themselves when it came to ingredients. Let me tell you, she's achieved just that!

So on to the Cleansing Concentrate. Now I'm sure you know that cleansing is my favourite step in my routine. Nothing beats the ritual of removing my makeup and SPF at the end of the day! I especially love cleansing balms as I find them to be the perfect balance of effectiveness and sensory enjoyment. The Cleansing Concentrate is a balm to milk cleanser that's designed to easily remove makeup and SPF without stripping the skin. It contains Hemp Seed Oil to balance skin, Camellia Seed oil to help with congestion, as well as Sacha Inchi, Blueberry and Borage to soothe skin.

The balm is a very unique consistency, it's almost like a jelly / balm hybrid! It begins to instantly melt upon contact with your hand. One of the main things that I love about the cleanser, is it's scent. There's no added fragrance - it's all natural from the ingredients. You can really smell the Hemp with a nutty undertone. Sounds odd but believe me, it's gorgeous! The first couple of times I used it, I wasn't sure what to make of the scent as it's so different to anything else I've used. It really grew on me and I soon craved it! Honestly, it's addictive. The cleanser melts quickly, meaning it's easy to spread around your face. It's a perfect texture - it doesn't drag or tug skin or disappear the more you rub it in. It's brilliant to give your face a good massage. When you add water, it emulsifies to a milk so it washes clean easily. I still like to remove it with a microfiber cloth but you definitely don't need to. There's no greasy residue left behind.

I've not come across a cleansing balm as nourishing to skin as this one. After use, skin is left soft, clean and happy! This is my go to if I'm having any sensitivity, it's so gentle to skin. One thing that really shows with the Cleansing Concentrate (and all the Deviant products I've tried for that matter), is how much thought goes into it and how high quality it is. The packaging is sleek and heavy, with the brands signature wax stamp on the lid (all done by hand!). It just feels so luxurious, making it a joy to use every time.

As I've said I'm now on to pot number 3 of this balm - the first time I bought it I went with the smallest 50ml pot, the 2nd time I moved up to the 100ml pot, the last one I've bought is the giant 200ml! That's how much I love it. It's definitely in joint 1st place with A.Florence Balm To Milk Cleanser, for my all time favourite cleansing balm (A.Florence is equally as lovely but very different to this one which is why I can't choose between them!). If you're a cleansing addict like me, you need to try the Cleansing Concentrate. If you're not, you still need to try it, it'll make you love cleansing - trust me! I can't recommend it enough.

The Cleansing Concentrate is available HERE for £29 for 50ml, £45 for 100ml and £69 for 200ml.
