Living Proof

In my opinion, Skingredients have to be one of the most underrated skincare brands! The brand founder is Jennifer Rock aka The Skin Nerd, who is an award winning facialist. I've been lucky enough to attend a couple of online Skingredients events with Jennifer and I just love her philosophy and passion for skincare.

Skingredients was created to provide results driven skincare that's suitable for all skin types as well as providing education about how to care for and understand your skin. The brand has a capsule collection which they call the Core 4 - these are suitable for all skin types. There's then a couple of other products that you can add in, depending on your skin's needs. I've tried all but one product (Sally Cleanse - a cleanser containing Salicylic Acid) - it's on my list to try! All of the products are cruelty free, fragrance free and are vegan.

The Core 4 contains -

PreProbiotic Cleanse which is a beautiful creamy cleanser that contains prebiotics, probiotics and PHA (Polyhydoxy acid) which work together to clean, hydrate and gently exfoliate your skin. It's designed to be used as a first cleanse to remove makeup and SPF but I prefer using it as a second cleanse, just because it's a gorgeous texture that I enjoy giving my skin a good massage with! It's definitely effective at removing makeup though without leaving skin feeling stripped or tight. This costs £25 for 100ml.

Skin Veg which is a pre-serum and penetration enhancer. You would use this after cleansing and before applying your serum. It preps the skin ready for you serum and also helps any ingredients applied afterwards to penetrate the skin better. Amazing, right? Skin Veg contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate, PHA to gently exfoliate and hydrate, Pro-Collagen Peptide to tackle fine lines and wrinkles, Liquorice Root Extract which is an amazing antioxidant that brightens skin, as well as a whole host of fruit and veg extracts that are antioxidants which also soothe and nourish skin. The pre-serum is a gorgeous texture - it's super runny and lightweight, meaning it absorbs instantly and plays well with other products. It's really hydrating and leaves skin looking dewy and fresh. This costs £41 for 30ml.

Skin Protein is an absolute powerhouse serum! It's a wonderful creamy / emulsion texture that feels extra nourishing without being heavy. It contains Retinyl Palmitate which is a gentle form of Vitamin A (Retinol) which speeds up cell renewal, Pro-Collage Peptide, two types of Vitamins C (ascorbic acid and ascorbyl palmitate) which are antioxidants that are brilliant to brighten skin tone and reduce pigmentation, Vitamin E, Rooibos Tea Extract & Green Tea Extract which are also antioxidants and Sunflower seed oil to hydrate and nourish skin thanks to containing fatty acids. It's brilliant if you want a one and done serum as it really does contain it all! This also costs £41 for 30ml.

Skin Shield SPF 50 PA+++ is a broad spectrum mineral SPF that doubles as a moisturiser. It has a peach tint to it so it's not ashy at all. As well as the SPF filter Zinc Oxide, it contains Niacinamide which is brilliant to improve skin's texture and reduce oiliness, the antioxidant Vitamin E and Allantoin which moisturises and soothes skin. It's definitely the lightest mineral SPF that I've tried, texture wise. It's runny, spreads easily and absorbs well. I always feel that mineral SPF's sit on my skin and although this is the best one I've tried, it's still not for me. I just prefer chemical SPF's but that's purely personal preference. I will say that if you love a mineral SPF, you definitely need to try this one. This is also £41 but you get 50ml (rather than 30ml).

So that's the core collection, now on to the additional products. Sally Cleanse is one of them - I'll review that when I buy and test it in the future.

Skin Good Fats moisturiser is an absolutely incredible cream! It's definitely one of the best moisturisers I've ever used and I've used a lot. When it comes to creams, I usually prefer them to have a fragrance, as I love the spa like experience so for me to love an unfragranced one says a lot! It's such a beautiful texture that manages to be incredibly nourishing and soothing without being greasy or heavy in the slightest. It feels so protective, like it forms an invisible weightless layer on my skin. It's almost a bit balm-like but still a cream. Such a unique, wonderful texture. It contains Ceramide NP which is a lipid that supports skin's barrier function, Shea butter glycerides which is a fatty acid, Avena Sativa Oat Kernel extract which is clinically proven to be an anti-irritant with antihistamine effects, Niacinamide, Vitamin E and Vitis Vinifera Grape Seed oil which is a moisturising antioxidant. If I had to pick a favourite from the range - this is it! Honestly can't recommend it enough. This is £41 for 30ml.

Last but not least is the Cleanse Off Mitt. As you can see, mine's well loved! This can be used with just water as a pre-cleanse to remove makeup or with a cleanser (which is how I like to use it).  It's super soft and gentle to your skin. It's quite thin (not in a bad way) so it's brilliant to take with you if you're travelling. These cost £18 for a pack of 3.

And that's Skingredients! As you can tell I'm a huge fan of the brand and definitely recommend them. Which Skingredients product would you try first?

The entire Skingredients range is available at Skingredients and Cult Beauty
