Face the Future

I'm sure you know by now that I'm a huge fan of Medik8. If not, you can read my other reviews here - Clarity Peptides, Hydr8 B5 Intense, Crystal Retinal & Medik8 Profession Peels. Medik8 are a British brand that are at the forefront when it comes to Vitamin A aka Retinol technology. Their high tech formulas are known to be highly effective. They promote what they call the CSA philosophy, which is the basis of a good skincare routine - Vitamin C, SPF and Vitamin A. I know from experience that these three steps make such a difference to my skin.

Advanced Night Restore cream is specifically designed to be used alongside Vitamin A. It's packed full of antioxidants like dragon fruit extract and saskatoon berry. It also contains peptides to help skins cells repair overnight as well as ceramides to promote a healthy skin barrier. Skin can sometime become a little sensitised when using Vitamin A so all these ingredients are perfect to offset that.

This moisturiser has quickly become my new favourite cream, knocking Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich off the top spot. It's a thick cream but it's not heavy at all. In fact it absorbs quickly and easily into skin. It almost feels like a gel / cream but extra nourishing. Skin is instantly plumped and hydrated when applied. It has a beautiful spa-like scent to it which I adore! This won't appeal to everyone but if you're like me and love a scented cream for that full self-care ritual, you'll love this! Medik8 describes the scent as "a calming botanical fragrance including lavender, sweet orange oil and neroli." I definitely find it instantly calming and look forward to using it. It's one of those scents where you want to cup your hands in front of your nose to breathe it in as you apply it.

I've found this to be a perfect choice for my combination / acne prone / dehydrated skin. It's nourishing and hydrating enough without blocking my pores or aggravating my acne. It definitely works well when used after Retinol - it replenishes skin and helps combat any peeling or sensitivity. I've never had any pilling / rolling issues with it either - it layers well with serums and anything applied on top.

So for me, it's become my new holy grail moisturiser! It's such a pleasure to use and will be a definite repurchase.

Medik8 Advanced Night Restore costs £55 and is available from Medik8, Cult Beauty, Space NK, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique, Skin City, Face The Future (prices vary from site to site - it's often on offer, shop around!)
