Lani Skincare Review

I was recently lucky enough to be sent three products from Lani to try. Lani are a British brand that are incredibly popular in the green beauty arena. They produce natural, vegan, cruelty free skin and hair care products in small batches to ensure freshness. Their packaging is eco friendly as it comes in recyclable glass bottles. I love the brightly coloured packaging - it’s so cheery!  All their products are free from parabens, synthetic fragrance, silicones and mineral oil.

One thing that I love about the brand is that they donate a percentage of profits to animal charities. The brands founder Viola, stated the brand after becoming more conscious of what beauty products she was using after turning vegan.

Now onto the products themselves!

Tropical Coconut Face Polish - This is a gentle physical exfoliant made from coconut milk powder and rice powder. It also contains ascorbic acid to brighten skin. It’s a super fine powder that you mix with a splash of water to make a paste, then massage onto skin for a minute, then rinse. First of all it smells absolutely amazing - like coconut macaroon biscuits! I’m not always a fan of having to mix skincare up myself because I’m rather clumsy and inevitably do it wrong. But this was super easy and mixed to a lovely consistency without any issues. Although I prefer chemical exfoliants, I do sometimes crave a product with a bit of a scrub! I like the ritual of using it and the super clean feeling afterwards. This scrub is an absolute pleasure to use, it’s just the right about of exfoliation without being harsh at all. That along with the gorgeous tropical scent makes it an enjoyable experience, which is something that’s important to me with my skincare! I love the self care aspect of it. After use my skin was left super smooth and soft, there was no redness at all.  I’ve been loving using this in a morning, the combination of the scrub and scent really helps wake me up. It’s definitely a winner for me!

Tropical Cacao Detox Mask - This mask promises to perk up and purify your skin in 20 minutes! It contains raw cacao which is an anti-oxidant, coconut milk to hydrate and nourish, Vitamin C to brighten, famed anti-inflammatory aloe vera, turmeric to soothe and Australian clays to absorb oil and clear pores. The mask comes in powder form, which you mix with water to make a fluffy mousse. Now because of the cacao the mask looks and smells exactly like chocolate mousse! Almost good enough to eat (I was seriously tempted 🙈). I used a brush to apply the mask, I think because of the light consistency this is the easiest way to do it, without it getting messy! It feels really lovely and silky smooth. You leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes until it dries, then wash off. My skin was left looking hydrated and feeling soft. I lovely treat! The only downside that I can see is that I craved chocolate after, because of the smell!

Tropical Super Serum -  This serum is a beautiful blend of oils designed to nurture skin and leave it glowing! First of all it smells of Jasmine which is just gorgeous, it reminds me of Herbivore Orchid oil. It’s ingredients include Jasmine Flower, Passion Fruit oil which contains Vitamin C and essential fatty acids which are great for anti-aging, Camellia Seed oil to calm inflammation, Watermelon Seed oil which helps control oil (great for me!), Jojoba oil to hydrate and Marula oil to lock in all the hydration. The consistency of the serum is just right, it’s light enough to be used in the AM without being greasy, whilst still being incredibly hydrating. It works well with all the other products I’ve used alongside it, which is great! I’ve found that my skin stays hydrated when using the serum, it leaves my skin looking plumped too. I’ve not had any issues either with it blocking my pores or causing spots, which is incredibly important for me!

As you can tell, I’ve loved all three Lani products. If you’re looking for a natural, cruelty free, affordable brand I suggest giving Lani a try! I’ve got their Tropical Hair Treatment as next on my list to try.
