Now you all know how much I love the Leegeehaam Tea Tree 70 BHA Toner (click here for my review) so I was really chuffed to be chosen by the brand again for their latest reviewing campaign.
This time there were two products to choose between, either the Life Pure Cleansing Foam or Life Pure Cleansing Oil. I decided to go for the oil, as I’ve quite a few gel / foam cleansers in my collection but not as many oils. I’m also an avid “double cleanser”, meaning I cleanse my face twice to begin my PM skincare routine. Double cleansing ensures that all the days dirt grime and oil and all your makeup and SPF is removed completely. Traditionally double cleansing starts with an oil cleanse, then is followed up by a cream / gel / foam cleanse. I usually use an oil or a balm as my first cleanse.
Now onto the product itself. The main ingredients are Sunflower extract oil, which contains antioxidants and is moisturising and Meadowfoam Seed Oil which helps removed dead skin cells to brighten skin tone. It also contains the following oils Lavender, Orange, Olive, Jojoba, Grapefruit, Lemon, Basil, Rosemary and Clary. So many! This obviously makes it unsuitable for those that don’t like essential oils. Personally it’s not a problem for me!
The oil is housed in a fabulous sturdy pump bottle. I absolutely love these type of containers, they just make like easier and do the job properly! The pump is very similar on the toner too. One pump dispenses the right amount of oil needed to cover your face. It’s got a lovely, light scent, almost a combination of sea air and citrus, very fresh but subtle. Texture wise, I’d describe it as a mid range oil - not light but not thick and heavy either. The oil cuts through makeup and SPF brilliantly, I didn’t have to rub at my eyes too much to remove my mascara. It’s very gentle as well, so no stinging eyes! After removing the oil with a flannel my skin was left soft and clean, ready for a second cleanse.
So to summarise, this oil has been a pleasure to use! It does exactly what you want it to and leaves skin beautifully soft and clean.
