Dr Levy Switzerland has always been one of those brands that I've admired from afar. Boasting incredible before and afters as well as hi-tech sounding ingredients, it's the sort of thing that instantly catches my eye and draws me in. The only thing that ever stopped me was the price. There's no denying that the products are on the higher end of the price scale. Now although I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for (most of the time), could they really be that good? Well I've been lucky enough to put some of their products to the test! I'll only be reviewing the Enriched Booster Cream today - the other products I'll review separately at a later date. Stay tuned for those.

First of all - a bit about the brand. Dr Levy is what I would class as a science based cosmeceutical brand. There's a huge amount of scientific research behind the products, most of which is beyond me but I'll try and explain the bits I do get. The brand is named after it's creator Dr Phillip Levy who is a renowned dermatologist who's famed for being the first Dr to administer Botox in Switzerland!

The main thing that makes Dr Levy products special is the patented ArganCellActiv Complex which is the worlds first formula proven to stimulate dermal stem cells, which are the source of skin's collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are what keep skin looking young and feeling firm! Dr Levy products have been subject to independent clinical studies which have proven them to tackle signs of aging. We all want a bit of that, right?

Anyway on to the Enriched Booster Cream. This is the richer version of the two Dr Levy creams. It's designed for dehydrated / dry skin types or those that want a bit of extra nourishment, especially during the winter months. My skin type is dehydrated / oily / acne prone which can sometimes be an issue when trying to find a cream to suit. Heavier creams can often be too much for my skin and aggravate my acne, whereas lighter creams aren't always enough! Luckily for me, this cream is a perfect consistency. It's nourishing but not too thick, heavy or greasy. It absorbs quickly and easily. It's very unique texture wise, it's so silky and it instantly gives skin a beautiful glow! I've not needed to add an oil or overnight mask on top of this - it's enough on it's own.

In addition to the ArganCellActiv complex this moisturiser contains Niacinamide which is brilliant to help with oiliness, texture and pigmentation, glycerin, squalene and hyaluronic acid to hydrate, shea butter for nourishment as well as peptides, antioxidants, Vitamin C and a gentle form of retinol. What a combination!

Now after using this cream for about 2 weeks, I did have some purging. I won't lie, I did panic for a bit and think that it was because the cream was too much for my skin. Luckily for me within 2 week the spots had cleared up. Purging can often happen with active products as they speed up your skins cycle, meaning that any spots that you had forming under your skin are brought to the top quicker than usual. It can be hard to tell if it's purging or a reaction, esecially if you have acne prone skin like mine. I was able to tell that it was purging as the spots were just around my jaw / chin where they usually are and that after a week or two, they had cleared up and no new ones has formed. If your spots are in a different area than usual and persist longer than a couple of weeks, it's likely that the product isn't suitable for your skin.

The more I used this cream, the more I fell in love with it! My other moisturisers ended up abandoned as I only wanted to use this! It's the perfect night cream for me. With regular use, I noticed that my skin was looking better than it had in ages. It looked healthier and had an amazing glow. As you can tell, I'm impressed! Now the question that you're all wanting to ask, is it worth the money? In my opinion, YES! Most definitely. Obviously when it comes to skincare budgets, it's very subjective. I think it goes without saying that it's never worth getting in debt for. But if this cream is within your budget or you don't mind saving up for a couple of months - I highly recommend it.

Now I've got exciting news - Dr Levy has given me an exclusive affiliate discount code to share with you all! So if you've been wanting to try their products - now's the time.
