October Empties 2020

AD info - this post contains affiliate links and PR products.

Space NK UK
That's another month flown by! It really will soon be Christmas. So on to October's empties.

NYK1 Lash Force lash serum (PR, available HERE for £37.95 - use TORIA10 to save 10% (AD-affiliate code) - You can read my full review of this HERE which includes before and after photos. This is a fantastic lash serum that I also use on my brows. I won't be without this now as the effects speak for themselves. My lashes grow longer, thicker and darker.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Already have.

Drunk Elephant C-Tango (bought myself, available from Space NK and Cult Beauty for £54) - You can read my original review of this HERE but to recap - this was my favourite AM eye cream that actually gives results for fading my dark circles. It's a beautiful rich texture that hydrates the eye area brilliantly.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it: Yes
Will I repurchase? No. As much as I adore this cream, I no longer support Drunk Elephant for numerous reasons (google Drunk Elephant drama and you'll see why. From not supporting BLM, to blaming and arguing with customers if their products don't work for them, as well as their scare mongering advertising - I could go on!).

Murad Night Fix Enzyme Treatment (bought myself, available from All Beauty, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique & Look Fantastic for £60 - shop around, it's often on offer) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to recap - this is a beautiful overnight mask. It's so hydrating and leaves skin looking amazing the following day.

Will I repurchase? Yes at some point.

The Inkey List Salicylic Acid cleanser (PR - available from Boots, Cult Beauty & Feel Unique for £10.99) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to recap - This cleanser is nearly always out of stock for good reason! It's a brilliant cleanser to help keep pores clear - strong enough to be effective but not drying (for me anyway).

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (bought myself, available from Cult Beauty, Space NK, Feel Unique for £61 & Skin City for £56) - This is a 3 pan palette of Hourglass's ambient lighting powders. I've totally finished one pan, got halfway down a second and partially used the third. The third shade was a bit dark for me. The only reason I didn't finish the second pan was that it was starting to harden up a little bit which is probably down to it being a couple of years old! I'm pretty sure I had this in 2018 so it's done well really. It just shows how long these powders last as the one that I panned was used pretty much every day! So although their not the cheapest, they're great value for money. These powders are my absolute favourite setting / finishing powder. They're so incredibly finely milled and lightweight. They give skin a gorgeous, luminous finish without being over the top or shiny. Nothing else I've tried comes close to these.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Always! I've moved on to one of the bigger 6 pan palettes now.

Dr Levy Intense Stem Cell Booster Serum (PR, available from Dr. Levy for £298, Face The Future for £266.50 & Cult Beauty for £280 for full size) - This is a beautiful serum - very runny and lightweight. It absorbs instantly and leave skin plump and hydrated. It contains Dr. Levy's patented formula that stimulates skins cells to produce collagen and elastin.

Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? I've got a full sized bottle that I'm using at the moment so expect a full review soon.

NatureLab Perfect Repair Shampoo & Conditioner (free samples, available from Cult Beauty for £13) - These were ok, nothing special to be honest.
Marks out of 10: 5/10
Do I recommend them? I think there's better options out there.
Will I purchase? No.

Allies of Skin Promise Keeper Blemish Sleeping Facial (bought myself, available from Cult Beauty, Space NK & Feel Unique for £115) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to recap - this is a fantastic product but it's just not for me. It works brilliantly, I just struggled using it in my routine and didn't find it enjoyable to use.
Marks out of 10: 6/10 purely personal preference though!
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase it? No.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter (bought myself, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty & Feel Unique for £34) - This isn't totally empty but it's passed it's best. I bought this ages ago and barely used it for some reason. I started using it again one day and never looked back! It's now my go-to primer that I use most days. It's an illuminating cream that can be used as a primer or a highlighter. If you love glowy, dewy skin, you'll love this! It just seems to perk my skin up and make me look more alive. Unfortunately it expired before I could finish the bottle but there wasn't much left. My only gripe is the packaging. It's a glass bottle with a wand applicator which isn't the most hygienic or easy to use. As you come to the end of the bottle, it gets harder to get out. It would be loads better in a tube.

Shiseido Benefiance Overnight Wrinkle Resisting Cream (gifted as part of Space NK's NDulge program in return for an honest review, available from Space NK, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic & Shiseido for £83) - This is a beautiful moisturiser but it's unfortunately a bit rich for my acne prone skin, which is a shame as I love it! It's super thick and feels like a hug for your skin. It's super nourishing and feels very protective. A perfect winter night cream. I'm passing it on to my Mum or Gran - they'll love it!
Marks out of 10: 9/10
Do I recommend it? Yes unless you're acne prone - it will probably be too much for you.
Will I repurchase? No.

Murad Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum (PR, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty, Feel Unique & Look Fantastic for £72 and Skin City for £68 - shop around between these though, it's often on offer!) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to recap - this is a fantastic hybrid vitamin C and Glyolic acid serum. Brilliant to brighten skin tone and reveal smooth skin.
Marks out of 10: 8/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No because I like to keep my exfoliation and Vitamin C separate. Purely personal preference.

Medik8 Retinol Eye TR (PR, available from Look Fantastic for £19) - This is a lovely oil serum. You only need the smallest amount so it lasts ages! It contains Retinol so is brilliant for combating fine lines.
Marks out of 10: 8/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase: No, I prefer a cream or serum.

Dermalogica Barrier Defence Booster oil (PR, available from Feel Unique, Look Fantastic for £67 and Skin City for £65) - This is a brilliant oil that can be used alone or added to a moisturiser. It's brilliant for stressed out or sensitised skin. It's full of calming ingredients. I do think it's a little expensive for what it is though but a little goes a long way.
Marks out of 10: 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? No, I don't really use oils in my routine.

Rodial Pink Diamond Night Gel (PR from Beauty Expert as part of the Serenity Edit beauty box HERE for £65 or from Rodial, Space NK, Feel Unique & Look Fantastic for £75) - This is a gorgeous gel cream. It's packed full of amazing ingredients like Retinol, Vitamin C and Peptides. It's incredibly lightweight and hydrating. It does have a very strong but lovely floral scent to it which I know some won't like. I can get migraines from some scents and I'm fine with this. This is more of a summer cream for me due to how lightweight it is.
Marks out of 10: 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Possibly.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich (bought myself, available from Space NK, Feel Unique, Look Fantastic for £87 & All Beauty for £62.95) - Up until very recently, this was my holy grail night cream, it's just been knocked off top spot by Medik8 Advanced Night Restore. It's still however one of my all time faves! This was the cream that got me hooked on skincare. I love everything about it - the beautiful scent, how rich and creamy it is without being heavy or greasy and how it makes my skin feel hydrated and nourished. It's such a joy to use.

Will I repurchase? Yes at some point, I always come back to it!

Evy Technology Daily Defence Face Mousse SPF 50 (bought myself, available from Space NK for £27 or from Evy.uk where you can save 15% using my affiliate code TORIA15) - You can read my review of the SPF 30 version HERE - this version is just as amazing plus it's higher protection at SPF 50. This is my all time favourite SPF. It's so unique as it's a mousse texture. This makes is extra lightweight and hydrating. It doesn't leave a white cast and it doesn't smell of anything either so it doesn't sting my eyes like some SPF's. It never pills / rolls so it's perfect to wear under makeup. Nothing beats it for me!
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes to everyone!
Will I repurchase? Always.

Bioglan Beauty Collagen Gummies (bought myself, available HERE for £18.99) - I have these set up on a subscription so they get delivered monthly as I need them. This also saves a bit of money too. They're my favourite form of collagen supplements as they taste just like sweets! Taking them makes a huge difference to the strength of my nails - they grow much longer and are in loads better condition.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend them? Yes
Will I repurchase: Yes.

Mitchum Deodorant (bought myself, available HERE for £3.20) - My go to deodorant. It's effective, not too heavily scented so doesn't interfere with perfumes but still smells nice and fresh.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Already have.

Drunk Elephant Framboos (bought myself, available from Space NK and Cult Beauty for £76) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to recap - this was my favourite exfoliating serum but as I've mentioned above, I no longer support the brand. The serum itself is fantastic - it gives you super smooth skin and helps keep pores clear.
Marks out of 10: 10/10
Do I recommend it? Yes if you support the brand.
Will I repurchase it? No.

Murad Prebiotic 4-in-1 MultiCleanser (bought myself, available from Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Skin City for £38 and All Beauty for £28.40) - This is a really lovely cleanser. It's very similar in texture to Beauty Pie's Japanfusion. A thick creamy gel that hydrates skin brilliantly. It rinses clean easily too. I mostly used it as a second cleanse.
Marks out of 10: 8/10
Do I recommend it? Yes
Will I repurchase? Probably not as I'll get Japanfusion instead as it's very similar and much cheaper. If I could get a good deal on this though, I'd definitely repurchase.

And that's it for this month! Thanks for reading.
