Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (PR, available from Look Fantastic for £26.99 & Feel Unique for £24.65) - Unfortunately I didn't manage to finish this mask before it went off (you get 6 months from opening). I did get plenty of use from it though! It's an absolutely gorgeous mask. Smells incredible and is super nourishing and soothing. It's a thick, creamy texture. It's the type of mask that you can leave on for ages.

Would I repurchase? No. I don't use it enough to finish it before it goes off so it would be wasteful.
Votary Super Seed Nutrient Cream (bought myself, available from Space NK & Cult Beauty for £65) - This is a beautiful, thick moisturiser. It's incredibly nourishing and leaves skin feeling soft and plump. This wasn't a total empty either - I came to use the last bit and the colour had changed. Gutted! This is another product that has to be used within 6 months which puts me off from repurchasing it.

Would I repurchase? No, again because of the short use by date.
Mitchum Deodorant (bought myself, available HERE for £3.20) - My go to deodorant. It's effective, has a subtle, fresh scent and it doesn't leave white marks.

Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask (free sample, available full sized HERE for £41) - I'm having a bit of a moment with Glow Recipe! I really liked this sample. It's a thick, balmy cream that soothes and hydrates the eye area beautifully. Seems lovely!

Skinceuticals Blemish + Age Defence serum (PR, available from Look Fantastic & Feel Unique for £90, Skin City for £73 & Face The Future for £72.99) - You can read my full review of this HERE but to recap - this is one of the best exfoliating serums I've tried. It's highly effective and works brilliantly on my acne-prone skin.

Verso Eye Cream (bought myself, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique, Skin City for £55, Face The Future for £59) - A lovely soothing eye cream. Fairly thick but absorbs quickly and easily leaving the eye area well hydrated.

Elemis Modern English Rose Bath & Shower Milk (bought myself from QVC UK, was limited edition so no longer available) - A beautiful rich milk that gives a creamy lather. Works brilliantly as both a body wash and bubble bath. Smells lovely - not an old fashioned rose.

Allies of Skin Molecular Multi-Nutrient Day Cream (bought myself, available from Cult Beauty for £95) - This has been reformulated and is now called Multi Nutrient & Dioic Renewing Cream. I can't comment on the new version as I've not tried it. I wasn't impressed with this one to be honest. It's almost the same texture as their Blemish Keeper product. I wouldn't describe it as a cream - it's more of a thick serum / emulsion. Other than basic hydration, this did nothing for me. A big let down, especially when I compare it to their Peptide Daily Treatment which I adore! (Review HERE).
Touch in Sol Stretchex Mascara (bought myself, doesn't seem to be available in the UK now!) - This is a fantastic mascara - my favourite for ages. Unfortunately it's not available in the UK now. It does it all - lengthens, give volume, holds a curl and is a dark black. Doesn't smudge easily either.

Will I repurchase? I've just opened a new one - I'd stocked up when they were on offer. Think that's my last one! Gutted.
NYK1 Lash Force lash serum (PR, available HERE for £39.95 but you can save 10% using my affiliate code TORIA10) - You can read my full review of this, including before and after photos, HERE. It's a fantastic lash serum that I use daily. It makes a huge difference to my lashes and brows. It's better value than a lot of the other lash serums on the market as you get 8ml (most are 2-3ml).

Sunday Riley Pink Drink essence (bought myself, available from Space NK & Cult Beauty for £42) - I liked this mist but it don't wow me. It hydrated my skin and left it feeling smooth but that was about it. For the price, I expected more. It's not a bad product though!

Evy Technology Daily Defence Face Mousse SPF 50 (bought myself, available HERE for £27 but you can save 15% using my affiliate code TORIA15) - My all time favourite SPF! Nothing beats this for me. It's incredibly lightweight as it's a mousse, it's hydrating, not greasy, no white case, it doesn't sting my eyes, it doesn't have a scent at all and it never pills / rolls so it's perfect under makeup. Plus it provides superior protection - have a read of the science on Evy's website, it's amazing! Honestly the best. It you hate SPF, then this one's for you.

Would I repurchase? Already have! It's a staple in my routine.
Caudalie Milky Sun Spray SPF 50 (bought myself, available from Space NK, Cult Beauty, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique for £21, All Beauty for £17.85) - Not an empty but it's now out of date as I bought it last summer. A lovely, lightweight milky SPF that has a lovely scent of neroli. It absorbs well and isn't sticky.

Would I repurchase? No, there's other SPF's that I prefer.
Dr Levy Enriched Booster Cream (PR, available from Dr Levy for £319, Cult Beauty for £310 & Face The Future for £294.99) - You can read my review of this HERE but to recap - this is an absolutely beautiful moisturiser. It's very unique - it feels like it forms a protective layer on your skin. Although this is the rich version, it's not heavy or greasy. It nourishes brilliantly and leaves skin glowing.
Marks out of 10: 9/10
Do I recommend it? Yes, if it's within your budget.
Would I repurchase? Luckily I've been sent another in PR as I wouldn't be able to repurchase as it's out of my price range. If I had a windfall, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic (PR, available HERE for £32) - This is the first acid exfoliator that I tried so I'll always have a soft spot for it! It's a brilliant gentle exfoliating toner that contains glycolic acid. I've been using this on my body - it's great to keep skin smooth.
Marks out of 10: 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes it's a fantastic first acid or if you prefer something gentle.
Would I repurchase? No, I prefer a stronger blend of acids to help with my acne.
Davines Minu hair serum (bought myself, available HERE for £22) - This is out of date now so needs throwing away. I wasn't too impressed with it to be honest! It was ok but didn't wow me. It's a milky consistency and smells lovely! It just didn't do much for my hair.

Beauty Pie Soul Providers bath and shower oil (bought myself, no longer available) - If you're not familiar with how Beauty Pie works, check out my blog post HERE. I wasn't fussed with this! It smelt nice but the scent didn't linger when it was poured into a bath. It left a bit of a film on the bath too.

Boho Goth Princess Whipped Body Butter (bought myself, available HERE) - I adore the scent of this! It's like palma violets. It's a super rich, thick butter that's a bit heavy for my taste. Smells incredible though!

Medik8 Cream Cleanse (PR, available from Feel Unique for £18, Skin City for £18.50, Face The Future for £13.99) - This is a beautiful cream cleanser. It's actually very lightweight in texture, it easily melts and removes SPF / makeup. It leaves skin super soft.

Dermalogica Neck Fit Contour Serum (PR, available from Space NK, Feel Unique, Skin City, Face The Future for £75, All Beauty for £67.50) - You can read my review of this HERE but to recap - I had amazing results with this serum - it made a huge difference to my tech neck! Unfortunately I think this has gone off even though it's well within the use by date. It used to have a lovely scent to it, which completely disappeared. It didn't smell quite right but I continued to use it for a couple of uses. I was struggling to get the last bit out so cut it open and noticed that the colour had changed from clear to a yellow / brown. So I stopped using it, just in case! I've had it stored with the rest of my skincare, which has all been fine so I'm not really sure what's caused the change in it. It's only been open about 4 months! Rather disappointing to be honest. Maybe I just got a dodgy one. I had been using it twice a day but then reduced down to once a day. I think if I'd have continued using it twice daily, I might have used it up before it turned. Something to bare in mind!
Marks out of 10: I would have given it 10/10 but I'll have to mark it down for going off so 7/10
Do I recommend it? Yes, it's a brilliant product just make sure to use it up straight away!
Would I repurchase? Honestly I'm torn! I loved the effects but am really put off by it turning funny so probably not. I expect more for the price of the product.
Fudge Urban Rough Up Texture Junk hair cream (bought myself, available HERE for £7.49) - Not an empty but as I've barely styled by hair in months (thanks lockdown!) this has hardened up. It's a fab hair wax. Fairly good hold, without being heavy or crispy. It has a slight sheen to it too so it doesn't dull your hair down. Plus it smells amazing! My only gripe is that it's marketed as a men's product when clearly it's fine for anyone to use!

And that's it for this month! Thanks for reading.
Great post - I’m having similar thoughts on the Sunday Riley essence. It’s nice but for a mist not as hydrating as some, so I used it as a serum instead, which worked for that bit of firming but nothing to write home about. I also use Mitchum deodorants (spray tho) almost exclusively for years (unless I get a random other in PR lol) - best out there. And you definitely need that Glow Recipe eye cream - absolutely stunning in summer, the cooling effect is just sublime! You’re so much more good with not using things after their used by date - I am known to use it up just not on my face but everywhere else lol x
ReplyDeleteGlad you agree about the essence! I’ll still use expired products if they look & smell ok. Good idea to use them up on your body!
